Tomoko Akasaka
Winner of the Third Prize at the prestigious ARD International Music Competition in Munich. Since 2016, a member of the Amaryllis Quartet. She teaches at the Musikhochschule Münster. Tomoko Akasaka has performed as a soloist and chamber musician worldwide. As a soloist, she has played with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Geneva Chamber Orchestra, Banatul Philharmonic Timişoara, Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, and the Japanese Chamber Orchestra. She has been invited to major world festivals, performing with artists such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniel Hope, Gidon Kremer, Heinz Holliger, and Menahem Pressler.
Akasaka studied with Nobuko Imai, whom she also assisted as an adjunct at the Geneva Conservatory. She has performed in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls on every continent. She has also worked as a guest professor at the Music Conservatory in Neuchâtel.
